SYH Regular Season
Hit the Ice This Season: Summit Youth Hockey 2024-25 Regular Season
Season Dates: The regular season kicks off on September 9th and runs through the end of February, ensuring plenty of time to hone your skills and compete.
League Play: Our Youth/Coed teams will play in the Western Colorado Hockey League (WCHL), while our Girls teams will play in the Colorado Girls Hockey League (CGHL).
Practice and Games: Committed to player development, Summit Youth Hockey provides a well-rounded program. During the regular season, your child's team will receive 3 hours of practice time each week, allowing them to refine their techniques and build team chemistry. These practices will complement their scheduled league games, ensuring a balance between learning and competition.
Tournaments: All teams will participate in two tournaments beyond the regular season schedule. The season will kick off with an early-season tournament, an excellent opportunity to shake off the rust and test your skills against other teams. Later in the season, teams will compete in either an MLK Day Tournament or a Presidents Day Tournament.

Volunteer Hours for the 2024 - 2025 Season
This year we are asking families to sign up for one of our fundraising events and volunteer for (2) - 3 hour shifts for that event.
The events are in the registration link. When we get closer to these events, a sign up sheet will be sent out to all of the families that selected their particular event.
Clock and Scoring
- 2 families will be responsible for clock and 2 families will be responsible for scoring per team this season. The families that sign up for clock and scoring will not need to volunteer at any of our fundraising events to meet their requirements.
- These positions will be on a first come first serve basis and be announced at the parent meeting after A and B teams have been decided.
Penalty Box
- Penalty Box volunteers will not count towards your volunteer requirements for the 2022 - 2023 season.
- Team managers will assign families at random for penalty box slots. Parents can trade these times with other families to best suit their schedule.
Girls playing with Pee Wee or Bantam teams
- If a girl player would like to play full time with Pee Wee or Bantam team she will need to attend try-outs and make the A team in that division
- If a girl player does not make the A team then she can double roster with the B team as long as there are no conflicts with her primary girls team and the B team does not reach the maximum number of players for that game. FOR ALL DOUBLE ROSTERED 'B' TEAM GIRLS, THE GIRLS TEAM IS THEIR PRIORITY.
